Wimbledon is three stops away on the tube and there is also a mainline station in Putney High St with direct access (5 stops) to Waterloo. Buses go direct to Richmond, Hammersmith, Knightsbridge and Oxford St. The Oxford and Cambridge Boat race starts in Putney and the Head of the River race finishes here. There is a park at the end of Deodar Road and you can walk along the footpath as far as Kew Gardens if you feel up to it.
